New Rules - New System - New Show Field Manager
Calling All Mopar Show Vehicles
The 2007 Chrysler Classic Event season is upon us. CC Events will be traveling to six different tracks, and we hope you will come along for the ride. This year we are making a few changes to the show field to make it more “user-friendly”.
First allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lisa Leathery, and I will be managing the show fields this year for the CC Events. For over 15 years, I have been involved with collector car events by managing the show fields for Carlisle Events. My experiences there are ones that I will always cherish. My love for cars started in my early teens. I hung out with my older brothers who introduced me to the muscle car, and as they say, the rest is history. If it looks good, sounds strong and goes fast, I dig it.
One of my favorite Mopars is the 1967 Plymouth GTX hardtop. I have always liked the square body muscle cars, and the GTX is a beautifully designed car both inside and out. My under-the-hood preference would be the 440, and it would have to be a four speed. I have not had the privilege of owning one yet but maybe some day. While my strongest interest lies in the 60’s muscle car era, I have an appreciation for a wide variety of motor vehicles, My love for collector cars spans from early years to late model, stock to modified; there is nothing like a well maintained four wheel piece of history. Well that is a little bit about me. I hope to get to know about you and your automotive passion.
I am grateful for the opportunity that the Blankenship family has afforded me by adding me to their team. My role in the Chrysler Classic Events will be to develop and grow the show field. This will take time, and I will need your help to drive the show field in the proper direction. The Blakenship family recognizes and appreciates the show vehicles and is showing their dedication to the hobby by bringing additional staff on board to develop the show. My first season will be one of learning; so be patient and give me your honest opinions. Your input will allow us to work together to create an outstanding program to showcase your Mopar vehicles and to continue advancement of the hobby.
Just as the drag cars are recognized in the pages of Mopar Collectors Guide Magazine, we want to create an equal recognition for the show field competitors. MCG is by far one of the best Mopar Magazines in the industry; for over 20 years Rob Wolf and John Ellis have published and produced a Mopar magazine that is dedicated to this hobby. They are forward thinking with their ideas and concepts, and the Chrysler Classic Events is proud to be selected as one of the events that will receive coverage in the publication. This means that vehicles in competition will be recognized in the Mopar Collectors Guide Magazine.
