Mopar Survivors are no strangers to the Chrysler Classic Events. At each event, various survivor vehicles are displayed under the Mopar Survivor tent. This is a non-judged, “display only ” featuring non-restored original condition Chrysler, and Dodge and Plymouth vehicles. This group of owners and their vehicles is organized by Mel Major and is supported by long time sponsors Sharon and Bob Malcom of Bob Malcom Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep

From Mel,
Mission : the first objective is to preserve the nice old MOPARS and gather them together for reference displays to show them as they were years ago. The second objective is to get all of the owners together for these displays to have fun and enjoy their MOPARS. This IS NOT A CLUB with membership. Any Mopar that meets the criteria, and would like to attend a show, can sigh up. There is not, and will not be any competition within this group. We want the display to present each vehicle to best represent it the way it is after it survived all of these years. Maintenance and normal repairs are acceptable as well as minimal accident repair. Component replacement; such as belts, hoses, exhaust, tires, etc. is expected. To maintain a high quality display, we recommend replacing components with similar items such as correct tire type and size, correct battery, stock appearing exhaust, correct hose clamps, Mopar belts, etc.

If your Mopar is going to participate in one of these displays, we will ask for two pictures and a short story of how it survived over the years. This will become part of the display.

What is a Mopar Survivor?
To be considered for the display the vehicle must be 25 years of age and in “unrestored original” condition. This requires 80% of the paint, interior and drive train to be factory applied. This is a non-judged “display only ” feature.

Why is pre-registration important?
Pre-registration is important for two reasons. First all pre-registered Survivor cars are parked under a tent. This tent is provided by Sharon and Bob Malcolm. In order for the proper size tent to be ordered, the exact number of cars attending must be known. Second, all pre-registered vehicles will receive free admission to the event.

What to do if a Survivor does not pre-register?
Upon arrival at the event, you will be required to pay the event show registration fee. At that time, indicate that you would like to park with the Survivors, and a show staff member will direct you to the proper area on the show field. At the Survivor tent, you must check in with Mel and complete the Survivor registration documentation. If there is room under the tent and if your vehicle qualifies as a survivor, you will be allowed to park under the tent, but remember tent space is reserved for pre-registered vehicles. You may park at the Survivor area all weekend; there is no competition offered to the Survivors.

Special thanks to Mel for organizing the Mopar Survivor registry. Thanks to all Survivor owners that choose to display at the Chrysler Classic Events. Your vehicles are amazing and the special care and preservation that goes into a survivor is truly a remarkable accomplishment. You help provide important verification of authenticity for other Mopar enthusiasts. Thanks for sharing your piece of history. Our thanks to Bob & Sharon Malcom for providing a tent for the Survivor display.
